Strictly limited mintage to only 500 pieces worldwide! The reverse of the coin features the incredible coloured image of a Frozen Skull over the image of the Maple Leaf. All around the reverse, the inscriptions: CANADA the issuing country, 9999 the fineness of the Silver, FINE SILVER, 1 OZ the weight of the coin and ARGENT PUR. The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: ELIZABETH II the name of the Queen, 5 DOLLARS the face value and 2017 the year of issue. At the beginning of the eighteenth century, the settlements located in New France had attained a population of about 18.000. Its popularity with French Canadians continued and was reinforced when, at the inaugural meeting of the Société Saint-Jean-Baptiste in 1834, the maple leaf was one of numerous emblems proposed to represent the society.
