The Royal Canadian Mint has stated that no more than 8,500 of these Universe coins will be made, making this quite a collectors piece! This coin has been graded by NGC and has received the highest grading possible – PF70. This means that this coin is flawless to the naked eye. It is put into an extra thick NGC holder in order to fit the glass piece attached to the reverse of this coin. Design of the 2016 Colorized Proof Silver Universe Coin. This colorized proof silver coin has a wonderful reverse design with some very unique added features. The engraving is of the Mont Mégantic Observatory in Canada, and it very detailed. It shows the observatory itself, along with the road leading up to it. On either side of the road are very intricately designed trees that bring a lot of detail into the engraving. The sky in this design has been colorized, and has a beautiful image of a starry night. Glow in the dark paints were used in this colorized image, which will make these stars glow when the coin is viewed in a dark room. Attached on the outside of the coin is a small globule of glass that has been handcrafted using silver dust and glow in the dark coloring to create an image very similar to that of the milky way. This beautiful design was created by Loïc Beaumont-Tremblay, a Canadian artist. The obverse of this coin is not quite so fantastic, but just as well detailed. It is the effigy of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II that is seen on the reverse of all Canadian coinage since 2003. This design was created by Canadian artist Susanna Blunt. Bordering this portrait is her name ELIZABETH II, as well as the abbreviation for the the Latin title, D. Written out, it is Dei Gratia Regina, which means By the grace of God, Queen. This brand new coin from the Canadian Mint is really a stunning design. The use of glow in the dark coloring to make the stars glow when it is dark was a very innovative idea that makes this coin the perfect gift for anyone you know that loves stargazing. This handmade globule of glass looks very beautiful with the silver dust swirled around it, and makes it appear just as a galaxy such as the milky way. Having the highest grade possible of PF70, as well as having a very low mintage of 8,500 means this coin may not be in stock long! Order yours now before they are gone!
