These beautiful coins are Uncirculated , Proof-Like and are 80% silver. The Voyageur Dollar was a coin of Canada struck for circulation in silver from 1935 to 1966, and as a commemorative in 2003. A nickel version was struck from 1968 to 1987. In 1987, the coin was replaced by the loonie. The coin remains legal tender. Production was maintained through 1967 with the exception of the war years between 1939 and 1945. All 1968 dollar coins were reduced in size and coined only in pure nickel. Thus, 1968 marked the last year in which any circulating silver coinage was issued in Canada. These coins are selected at random from our inventory.
