1971 Canada British Columbia Silver Dollar PCGS SP67 Attractive Colorful Toning
The 1971 Canada British Columbia Silver Dollar is composed of 50% fine silver with an actual silver weight of 0.375 ounces and features a proof-like finish. The obverse depicts a re-engraved version of the “Mature Head” Queen Elizabeth II which shows considerable detail. This example of the 1971 Canada British Columbia Silver Dollar has been graded SP67 by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. When tilted into direct light, the beautiful toning of this piece comes alive. I have attempted to show this colorful toning in the photos, but the glare caused by the plastic slab made this very difficult resulting in less than optimal photos. The obverse of the coin has attractive toning with gold, pink and green colors. The reverse is slightly hazy with mostly golden color concentrated at the rim with an untoned central area.
