The Queens likeness is framed with a circle that separates it from the rim of the coin. On the rim, her name, ELIZABETH II, is inscribed on the left, while D. Regina (Dei Gratia Regina) is inscribed to her right. Dei Gratia Regina is a Latin phrase meaning, By the Grace of God, Queen.
