The majestic image was created by Tony Bianco and Arnold Nogy, and their initials can be seen on their design. Natures fury is enhanced even more in this impressive image: The detailed lightning arcing across the sky has been made to glow vibrantly when placed under a black-light! The artists have done this using innovative technology, and it makes the lightning appear to glow with energy. This use of a black-light to illuminate the special glow on the design is a first in coin history! On the obverse of this Canadian coin is an intricate portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This is the design of Canadian artist Susanna Blunt, that has been used on the obverse of Canadian coins since 2003. The inscriptions ELIZABETH II and D. REGINA border this design.
