Notice the clasp on the right side of the box is broke. These PROOF coins are legal tender authorized by the Government of Canada and were struck by the Royal Canadian Mint. Each coin is encapsulated in a mint provided coin holder. All of the coins are displayed in a green velvet Mint supplied presentation/display case that slides easily into a white protective storage sleeve. Common to all obverses are the effigy of Her Majesty The Queen and the legend Elizabeth II Canada and the date. Coins 1 and 2 are dated 1985, coins 3, 4, 5 and 6, 1986 and coins 7, 8, 9 and 10, 1987. The reverse for each of the 10 different PROOF Silver coins highlights one of the major 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic events. The 10 events included are. Common to all reverses are the emblem of the Calgary Olympic Winter Games, the word Calgary 1988 and below 20 dollars. The edge lettering on each coin is – XV OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES – XVES JEUX OLYMPIQUES DHIVER. There is an official Royal Canadian Mint Certificate of Authenticity for the entire set including a description of each of the 10 coins included and the technical specifications. There are also certifications from the Mint Master stating This is to certify that your Calgary 1988 Olympic Winter Games coin is legal tender in Canada and contains one Troy ounce of pure silver. There are five of these certifications each covering two of the coins included. The technical specifications for the coins are. Silver Content: One Troy Ounce. Composition: 92.5% Silver, 7.5% Copper.
